Tree Watering Party
About this Project: Join us to keep the trees in the Field, Regina, Northrup neighborhoods healthy by making sure they have enough water.
Our first watering party will be on August 18th from 10 am to noon at McRae Park. Meet at the McRae Park Rec Center at 906 E 47th St, Minneapolis. We will be watering the trees that were planted during the 2024 Arbor Day celebration.
The Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board (MPRB) is providing guidance, a water truck, buckets, and other equipment. Our job is to distribute the water to the trees and have fun doing it.
This is a family friendly event. Bring the kids!

Fix-it Clinic
Bring your broken household items to a free Fix-It Clinic and work together with friendly, skilled volunteers to diagnose, troubleshoot and fix your stuff. We can help you with small appliances such as fans and vacuums, clothing that is clean, electronics and much more.
Fix-It Clinics teach valuable troubleshooting and basic repair skills, build community connections and reduce the number of repairable things that are thrown in the trash. Events are family friendly and run from noon to 4 p.m., with the last items accepted at 3:30 p.m. Events are first come, first served. No pre-registration required.

This group creates quarterly newsletters, social media and web content, takes pictures at events, and strategizes neighborhood communication.
Creek Restoration Volunteer Session
Help FRNNG restore the Minnehaha Creek woods by removing buckthorn, garlic mustard and other invasive plant species and adding native grasses, flowering plants and shrubs.
Click here to sign up! Meet at the bridge across Minnehaha Creek at 14th Ave S. This is a great volunteer opportunity for beginners, teens, etc. All volunteers need to sign a Minneapolis Parks' waiver - click here to fill it out!
Please bring your own water bottle, safety glasses, bug spray and gloves (we'll have basic pairs if needed). We will supply training and other equipment. If you prefer to bring your own tools (loppers, hand saws, and pruners are permitted; NO power tools or chemicals), please mark them with your name.

Greening Committee

McRae Park Summer Celebration
Join McRae Park for its annual end-of-school-year Summer Celebration! The first 500 participants will receive a free ice cream item and there will also be additional items available for purchase. Enjoy music, a bounce house and other fun yard games that day.
