  • Snow Shoveling Program

    FRNNG has a volunteer program every winter to provide snow removal assistance for neighbors in need. If you are physically unable to shovel, please learn more and sign up below in November. More details will be shared as the winter season approaches

  • Minnehaha Creek Duck Race

    FRNNG hosts the Minnehaha Creek Duck Race the first Saturday in May. Watch the ducks float down the creek and enjoy with food trucks, activities for all ages, music, and a raffle. Information on sponsoring ducks and business table sponsorships will be available early in in the new year. Stay tuned!

  • Neighborhood Loan Programs

    FRNNG funds home improvement, emergency deferred, and exterior and energy deferred home loan programs for residents in buildings with 1-4 units.

    FRNNG partners with the Center for Energy & Environment to administer loans. Learn more below!

  • Creek Restoration & Buckthorn Removal

    FRNNG’s Greening volunteers have been working to remove invasive buckthorn along Minnehaha Creek and do our part to preserve our shared green spaces, all without toxic chemicals or hard-to-use power tools. We’d love to have you involved!

  • Facade Grants

    Eligible businesses, nonprofits and commercial property owners can get up to $5,000 in matching grant funds for exterior improvements through the City of Minneapolis and the Field Regina Northrop Neighborhood Group.

  • Neighborhood Events

    FRNNG collaborates with McRae Park and other community partners on neighborhood events. Find info on upcoming events at www.frnng.org/calendar, Facebook, Instagram or by signing up for our e-Newsletter, Close to Home, below.

  • Business Directory

    Our neighborhoods are home to a thriving and vibrant business community. Shop local and support our Field, Regina & Northrop businesses using our neighborhood business directory.

  • Free Libraries

    FRN is home to 63 free libraries and counting! Some were funded by FRNNG and built by volunteers, like the one pictured. Check out our neighborhood-wide map of free libraries and find your next great read!

  • Free Home Energy Squad Visits

    FRNNG residents can access free or discounted Home Energy Squad visits to make free energy upgrades at home.

  • Holiday Lights Tour

    In December 2024 FRNNG hosted its second annual Holiday Lights Tour. We had 24 neighbors who shared their home, apartment, or business display, and neighbors checked out the tour and voted for their favorites, and stopped by the free Cocoa Bar Kick-off event. We hope to bring this fun tradition back again soon. .

  • Pets of FRNNG

    Calling all pet people — dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles and everything beyond and in between! Click below to submit your pet(s) and check out our growing neighborhood showcase whenever you need a smile!

  • Just Deeds & Racial Covenants

    The Just Deeds Project provides homeowners with the opportunity to learn about, acknowledge the harm caused, and discharge racial covenants recorded against their properties. With help, homeowners can reclaim their homes as equitable spaces.

  • Volunteer with FRNNG

    Get involved with your neighborhood by stepping up to volunteer with some of our many programs and events. Pick your areas of interest — our Greening Committee (which meets monthly and hosts clean-up events), our Board of Directors, our Spring Duck Race, snow shoveling, and more.

    Close to Home & Neighborhood Communications

    FRNNG publishes a regular e-newsletter to update subscribers on programs and events in our neighborhood. We also hope to get back to publishing our quarterly Close to Home newsletter that gets mailed to every address in our neighborhoods. Stay tuned for that.
